Meet the Chimpanzees: Akira

Akira (male, estimated to have been born in 1976)

Akira has a very straightforward and easy-to-read personality. He enjoys playing with both chimpanzees and humans.

He and Ai were very close, and he relied on her a great deal. He was never especially strong in fights, and after his son Ayumu grew bigger and stronger, Akira sometimes became frightened and cried. When that happened, Ai would rush over at once and chase Ayumu away.

Ayumu is also very fond of Akira, and the two of them often play together.
