Gon’s 60th Birthday Celebration

Gon is the oldest chimpanzee at the EHUB. Born in 1966, he turns 60 this year. In Japan, the 60th birthday is a special occasion called kanreki. 

This time, we would like to share a little of how we celebrated Gon's special day.

We also decorated Gon's usual room with a red towel, the traditional color for kanreki celebrations.
